Yeah, there are lots of racks out there, some work OK and others just don't work at all for the skinny, high performance hulls that Superior Surf carries. After hearing complaints from customers and seeing boats get damaged, we decided to take matters into our own hands and design and build, right here in Duluth, MN our very own "Slick Rax". These racks are unbelievably quick & easy to mount or dismount from your car. The entire rack and its hardware are either aluminum or stainless steel. It won't rust, wont chip, wont scratch, or scrape, and best of all its completely adjustable, stretching a small ride like a Toyota Prius into a Surburban as far as your brand new $3,000 hull knows.

Every possible detail has been carefully thought out and designed to work as well as possible to provide your kayak, surf ski or rowing shell with the safest possible ride. Tough, custom, padded, nylon V-bar covers can be slipped off when not transporting boats for better aerodynamics, non bug gut covered surfaces, and protection from harmful UV rays. Also, if not using the rack for an extended period, you may simply and easily remove the V-bars entirely, leaving just the longitudinal bar attached. By removing the V-Bars wind drag and noise can be further reduced and its even likely you can get into your garage or that low overhead parking ramp at work.

When on, these pads provide for easy slide on & off of your boat, while strategically placed Hypolon strips provide a non slip grab when the boat is strapped down. One of the very best features is the custom straps that are easier to use than standard cam buckled straps that can & often do damage gel coats or auto paint. These straps also make it impossible to over tighten or over reef the straps, frequently resulting in gel coat cracks or worse on these fragile hulls.

Slick Rax are designed to work as an attachment to your Thule or Yakima system. It has bar clamps that will grab either the square or round crossbar. The V's can be placed anywhere along the 8' span of the longitudinal aluminum bar that is the backbone of the system. Place the V's where they provide the widest stance or attachment to your long hull, protecting against those nasty cross winds or semi trailer gusts. Place them where your boat has the most strength. Place them where they allow you to open your sun roof while car topping your boats. V-bars are even capped with custom die cut soft plastic covers, offering protection from that surprise wind or those exhausted arms after a tough race or workout, causing you to inadvertently bobble the boat while loading.
