"Surfing on a lake? I never knew you could surf around here." We heard this 10 years ago and we still hear it today. Yes, you can definitely surf on a lake, at least if its one of the Great Lakes. As a matter of fact, Tom Blake, who is credited with revolutionizing the sport by attaching a fin to the modern surf board, hailed from Wasburn, WI. Check out the trailer from "Unsalted" on the 'video ' page if you've never seen a surfer catching a little fresh water stoke. Superior Surf Systems is now the North Shore's resource for boards, including SUP's or Stand Up Paddle Boards. Check out the video of Bonga Perkins to the right if you want to combine paddling and surfing. Please contact us with questions, to check on what's in stock or to order a specific board. 10'0" Bonga Perkins Model - Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Board
Carl Schaper talks about the Bonga 10'0" stand-up model.
“Bonga’s high-performance, wave riding stand-up design - the most noticeable feature of the design is the step-deck and rail. This unique configuration creates a full volume board with disproportionately thin rails. The thinner rails allow the board to bottom turn, carve and fit in the pocket much like a standard longboard."
The board comes complete with built in deck grip for maximum traction with minimum fuss. It helps make the board easy to work with and comfortable to use. It also comes with a Ultra Stiff light weight Carbon Paddle.
The Bonga SUP is designed for use by a range of SUP surfers. Target weight range is probably 80 kgs / 175lbs +/- 5kg / 12lbs. It is also designed to be surfed as much as paddled so if you want to mix it up on the face of the wave this one of the best boards to do it on. In fact Bonga won the August 2007 C4 Waterman/Honolua Surf Co in Hawaii on this production model. Once again performance straight out of the box that you can rely on.

Featured Funboard - 7'6" Bonga Funboard by Schaper
A great wave catcher and Carl's personal favourite that's been refined with Bonga's feedback. Designed to cover a lot of territory, it works unreal in beach breaks and can handle bigger waves when they come. Depending on where you live and surf it is possible a one board quiver.
