Surf Skis
Originally developed in Australia as ocean lifesaving equipment, surf skis have spread around the globe and become the boat of choice for most open water fitness paddlers and racers. Unlike a kayak, the paddler sits on top rather than inside the boat. Although these craft excel in open water with large waves and swell, they also work superbly on inland lakes and rivers.
Additional lay-ups are available for all composite boats which will change weights & prices depending on what you choose. Shipping is not included in prices listed. Please contact us for further details.

Stellar Elite Small (SES) - Surf Ski
Released in 2010, and now updated in 2011 with a wider more comfortable seat, Stellar Elite Small (SES) is set to revolutionize the Surf Ski industry. Finally a boat specifically designed for lighter weight paddlers, where the length, beam, depth and wetted surface fit the paddler. The SES has been optimized in every way to suit the smaller paddler, as compared to the competition. Other companies simply use their existing hull designed for large paddlers. They reduce the height and make a smaller cockpit to fit a smaller paddler, but you are still paddling a hull which is designed for a large paddler.
At Stellar, we know the importance of the relation between the paddlers' size and the wetted surface area of the boat. We refuse to compromise, giving you a boat with the same stability and speed of our original Stellar Elite Surf Ski, yet hydro-dynamically optimized for a smaller paddler.

Epic Kayaks is pleased to introduce the long awaited Epic V10 Surf Ski! Designed from the ground up by Oscar Chalupsky, Greg Barton and computer whiz John Dixon, the Epic V10 is incredibly fast and agile while maintaining comfortable stability. While we met our goal of designing a boat that is faster than the competition on flat water, the Epic V10 really shines in downwind and upwind heavy sea conditions. A fully adjustable footbrace combines with a high capacity venturi drain to keep water out. The single footwell and front deck cutaway allows for a closer, more powerful stroke.

The V10L is a lower volume version of our award winning V10 surf ski. We've lowered the front deck to decrease windage and moved the seat up 2" to give a better position for smaller to mid sized paddlers.
The V10L is proving very popular in areas that are not regularly encountering 6'+ waves. Heavier paddlers and/or those regularly paddling in waves over 6' (2 meters) height will be better served by our V10 model.
The V10L has an adjustable footbrace with self adjusting pedals that will fit shorter leg lengths - accommodating paddlers from 4'11" to 6'3" tall.

Legend by Think Kayak
![]() |
As with the Evo, we put a lot of emphasis on the maximizing the engine (the paddler), so comfort and stability are both at the top of the features list on the Legend. The big difference with the Legend (from other boats in the class) is on the hull. Starting about mid-thigh, and extending back to just in front of the rudder, the hull (side to side) has a gentle curve leading to very hard edges. The result is very good initial and secondary stability (in its class, elite or 17" wide racing ski), without compromising speed.
The second benefit is catching and riding waves. The flattish stern picks up every little bump and runner (or wash), and once going the hard edges allow for great speed on the wave. In the end you have the athlete in a fast stable boat, catching more runs, more often.

Mako Elite by Fenn
The Mako Elite is the current top-of-the-range ski in the Fenn stable. Paddled by Dawid Mocke (#2 in the world, two years running) and Hank McGregor, the ski has featured at the top of the results in almost every race where one or other of the two paddlers has competed.
Although designed to be narrower and faster (and consequently slightly less stable), the ski has proved to have very similar stability to the Mako6 and is extremely popular with intermediate level paddlers. Compared with the Mako6, the Elite's cockpit is slightly further aft, while the rudder has been moved forward - to improve handling in downwind conditions. With less rocker than the ‘6', the ski is faster on flat water and, according to Dawid Mocke, handles better in waves. "It seems to be less effort to maintain high speed in this ski," he said.
