Surf Skis

Originally developed in South Africa as ocean lifesaving equipment, surfskis have spread around the globe and become the boat of choice for most open water fitness paddlers and racers. Unlike a kayak, the paddler sits on top rather than inside the boat. Although these craft excel in open water with large waves and swell, they also work superbly on inland lakes and rivers.

Additional lay-ups are available for all composite boats which will change weights & prices depending on what you choose. Shipping is not included in prices listed. Please contact us for further details.

Epic Kayaks is pleased to introduce the long awaited Epic V10 Surf Ski! Designed from the ground up by Oscar Chalupsky, Greg Barton and computer whiz John Dixon, the Epic V10 is incredibly fast and agile while maintaining comfortable stability. While we met our goal of designing a boat that is faster than the competition on flat water, the Epic V10 really shines in downwind and upwind heavy sea conditions. A fully adjustable footbrace combines with a high capacity venturi drain to keep water out. The single footwell and front deck cutaway allows for a closer, more powerful stroke.

Specifications:

  • Length: 21'4" (6.5 m)
  • Width: 17-1/8" (43.5 cm)

Options:

  • Layups
    • Ultra: Kevlar & nomex honeycomb (24-25lbs): $3,395.00 (includes cover)

V10L by Epic Kayaks

The V10L is a lower volume version of our award winning V10 surf ski. We've lowered the front deck to decrease windage and moved the seat up 2" to give a better position for smaller to mid sized paddlers.

The V10L is proving very popular in areas that are not regularly encountering 6'+ waves. Heavier paddlers and/or those regularly paddling in waves over 6' (2 meters) height will be better served by our V10 model.

The V10L has an adjustable footbrace with self adjusting pedals that will fit shorter leg lengths - accommodating paddlers from 4'11" to 6'3" tall.

Specifications:

  • Length: 21'4" (6.5 m)
  • Width: 17-1/8" (43.5 cm)

Options:

  • Layup
    • Ultra: Kevlar & nomex honeycomb (24lbs) - $3,395.00 (includes cover)
    • Performance: Infused epoxy with honeycomb foam core (32lbs) - $2,395.00
    • Value: Fiberglass (37lbs):$1895

Legend by Think Kayak

As with the Evo, we put a lot of emphasis on the maximizing the engine ( the paddler ), so comfort and stability are both at the top of the features list on the Legend. The big difference with the Legend (from other boats in the class) is on the hull. Starting about mid-thigh, and extending back to just in front of the rudder, the hull (side to side) has a gentle curve leading to very hard edges. The result is very good initial and secondary stability (in its class), without compromising speed.

The second benefit is catching and riding waves. The flattish stern picks up every little bump and runner (or wash), and once going the hard edges allow for great speed on the wave. In the end you have the athlete in a fast stable boat, catching more runs, more often.
